Photoshop Disaster: VOGUE
Yes, not even Vogue is immune to the dreaded Photoshop Disaster.
Break a leg, not cut it off! Does anyone even care anymore? I give up.
This season comes in with a new trend in the modeling industry. Anorexia is so not in, amputation is where it’s at!
And another one in the series.
I love the warped foot.
Aside from utterly horrible liquifying, there are other issues. It must be reminiscent of Dali, if Dali used HDR and kept the halos in the image. Perhaps it may be a high pass halo, where you put the high pass filter way too high. Either way, these halos are not the heavenly kind.
I could go on all day, it’s almost as exciting as a game of where’s waldo, if there were 10 of them in the image.
Dali - for those of you who are not familiar with the name:
Vogue, I know times are hard, but you need me on staff to overview that issues like these never make it past the first draft, let alone into the final.
But in all seriousness, aside from the joking around, I would really like to know what happened behind the scenes. I am fully aware of the insanity level deadlines that editorial work faces on the retouching side (can you say 9 images in 12 hours?), so there’s usually an explanation for this. Although, probably not a good one, but there is one never the less.
Though don’t get me wrong, this is not excusable and there needs to be tighter measures that things like this never happens. Is it an indirect sign of our economy and the lack of staff? Who knows.
I’m passionate about Vogue, because one day I would want to work for them and I believe their name is pristine with the standards they uphold. I would want to be held accountable and to the same standard when I work for them.
In the end, this should not happen.
